I mean, it is fine to tolerate gay people and their lifestyle-- that is their personal choice. But when they start saying how it is not enough that people simply tolerate their lifestyle and must come to accept, aren't they the ones being the moralising assholes whom they are frequently complaining about? Because if God tells us something is wrong (and let us assume that I am only referring to people who actually believe in a God that tells them that homosexuality is wrong), how on earth can gay people possibly have the moral audacity to tell others that we should listen to them as opposed to our own God?

As a believer in God I can tell you that I am persuaded that each person view on the Gays is their own. They might have scripture indicating how God looks at things, but the way they show love is more important-- at least in the focus of Christianity.

Loving the Gay people as people is not wrong, according to this Christian.

i'm Christian and that i totally settle for homosexuality as primary. one among my good acquaintances is a lesbian, and that i had yet another close buddy in intense college that grew to become into gay. i do no longer permit a e book rule my existence, regardless of the undeniable fact that it does function coaching now and back. i do no longer permit or no longer that's the inspiration for all of my concepts. i think anybody, in spite of race or sexual orientation, deserve equivalent know and medical care. The Western ideals on gender is very narrow, and that i found from anthropology that there are somewhat approximately 5 genders and distinctive cultures % to settle for them or no longer. Sorry, have been given off aim a sprint on the tip. yet my element is I do settle for homosexuality as element of being a typical individual, and not some ludicrous being that some human beings have faith.

First, I know of no God that tells anyone who is gay is wrong, and gay and lesbian people do not hold themselves as gods.
Gays and lesbians only want to be accepted as people. They don't proselitize, although this question does so in a passive agressive way.
When anyone uses the word "tolerate", it usually means does not acccept or respect.
And, this is not a lifestyle, nor is it a choice.
We have to get past the rhetoric and find ways for all of us to embrace the differences in others, whether it is orientation, race, age, physical or mental abilities.
I recall a scriptural reference that says: "Let he who is without sin cast the first stone."
Oh, and I am not gay.

How can straight people expect us to accept them? {You can see how hate-filled this question is when it is turned around, I hope.}

I mean, it is fine to tolerate straight people and their "lifestyle," since it is crammed down our throats 24/7 on every news program, tv drama, ad and billboard.

But when the tiny yet strident minority of ignorant bigots start saying that they have the right to preach hatred, discrimination and therefore violence against LGBT people, aren't they the ones committing prosecutable Hate Speech? Haven't they completely turned their backs on their teachings of tolerance, justice, and love?

How on earth can some "christians" like this have the audacity to say that anything they are doing is God-like?

True Christians work for peace and justice. Hypocrites do the opposite. Which camp are you in?

Because like everyone gay people want to be accepted as well you know. We just want to be treated the same as if we were straight by society. Simple. How can (SOME) Christians expect us to accept we are wrong and we sin ect.

ps. Lots of gay Christians out there; nothing wrong with that :)

Well not everyone believes in the same God as you do.

Frankly I could care less whether you accept me or not. What we don't like is you trying to legislate your morality and denying us the same rights you have. We simply wish to be seen as human beings. Is that so hard for you to understand?

How can gay people expect you to accept them?

I really don't know, they seem to have this preposterous idea about you being civilised and smart enough to understand that they're no different to anyone else just because of their sexual orientation. Duh!

Besides, I don't understand what god you're talking about. My god, the Flying Teapot, never said anything against homosexuality. Duh!

We can't change who we are. I can't even be turned on by a woman. That's not my fault. I can't help it. You don't have to be best friends with every gay person, but let us live our lives without the degrading statements.
