I'm 23 and I am dead set against having children. Also, I have been told by a gynecologist that having children would be difficult and dangerous for me. Am I a candidate for a tubal ligation or partial hysterectomy?

You are a candidate for tubal ligation. There are very few risks with this and it is a fairly simple surgery.

Good luck trying to find a doctor who would do it- I tried getting one, and no doctor wanted to do it, telling me that "I'll change my mind"
You might have better luck getting and IUD, if you are nuliparous (if your uterus is in the proper position, with one normal cervix), monogamous, and don't have AIDS or recurring infections.
I got Paragard- it's cheaper and less invasive than a tubal, it's good for 10 years, it is as efficient as a tubal, it doesn't have significant side effects, and it's reversible, if you eventually change your mind. If you don't you can just have another one inserted right away.
