I just wanted an opinion about Cal State Northridge and Cal State LA. Hows the campus life? Especially housing on campus? How are the professors? The extracurricular activites? The surrounding city? Any current student, alumni, or even future student's opinion would be very helpful.

I can tell you something about CSULA. It is unique in that it offers 4 regular quarters per academic year while most schools have 3 regular quarters. Summer quarter is a 10 week session, instead of the usual two 5 week sessions. Although you are not required to attend in the summer, in theory you can probably graduate in three years.

The professors are caring and dedicated since most of them spend majority of their time teaching instead of doing research. Also they have an excellent engineering program, if that is your interest.

As far as the students are concerned, they tend to be older than other CSUs. One good thing about that is that your classmates will be more mature and respectful of one another. However, you will most likely have to seek out for extracurricular activities. I know they are there but not out in the open.

There is a limited amount of on campus housing and there aren't many student complexes near the school, if at all. Although downtown LA is not too far away, there is no hangout places right next to campus.

I think it's a good place to be if you are a dedicated student but I can see how some may feel that the campus is dull if you are looking to balance out studying and social life.

in the beginning ucr is not extra handy to get into than cal state long coastline. i in my opinion think of any uc faculties are extra effective than cal state faculties beside the exception of standford, calpoly slo and etc. additionally, cslb isn't a closer attractiveness fee to ucla. i in my opinion do no longer understand who's feeding you those information/ solutions yet you ought to do extra analyze. on condition that, you do no longer stay in california your classes will fee extra so re-examine that certainty. If I have been you I willl certainly notice UCLA, UCR, and CSLB. I stay in california and that i do no longer understand lots approximately csn...regular, good success with each thing!!!!
