2Ca + 2H2O = 2Ca(OH)2
In the above equation you get only 2 moles of one product since Ca which is solid form is dissolved in H2O which in liquid form. However, if the same reactants are taken together at higher temperature(other than room temperature) we get the following:
Ca + H2O = CaO + H2(gas)
We get Calcium oxide and hydrogen gas

Ca(s) + 2H2O(l)----------------Ca(OH)2(aq) + H2(g)
half rxns
ca(s)-------------ca+2 + 2e-
2H2O + 2e- ---------- H2 + 2OH-

Ca(s) + 2H2O--------------Ca2+ + 2OH- + H2(g)
Ca(s) + 2H2O--------------Ca(OH)2 + H2(g)
