a mono amp has just a single amp in a casing (mono)
a stereo amp has two amps in a single casing (stereo)
a multichannel amp has more than four amps in a single casing (usually five or seven)
every speaker unit has it's own channel and thus needs it's own amp..
a mono subwoofer amp is an amplifier that's specifically designed to drive a subwoofer... Most multichannel amps already have a built in subwoofer amp so you probably don't need one, especially since you can buy active subwoofers which have their subwoofer amp built in.
the amount of watts a system pulls really isn't important at all, except for matching speakers to amps... they should be in the same region at least or you stand a chance of blowing up either your speakers or your amp

Hi,stone .A 2-chanel amp.delivers 2 signals to 2 speakers to give you stereo sound.
A multi- chanel amp has 3 or more signals to drive 3 or more
speakers to give you a surround sound experience.
A subwoofer amp is usually built into the subwoofer enclosure and since you only need 1 subwoofer ,the amp is mono (1 chanel) amp.
The wattage depends how loud you want to listen and the power rating of the speakers . If the speakers are rated less than the out put of the amps just be careful with the volume control not to overload them .They will perform better as long as you are careful.Of course if the speakers are rated higher than the amps you wont overload them .Hope this has been some help for you.

A 2 channel amp is a common stereo amp. A multichannel, nonetheless nevertheless using a stereo enter, helps embody sound. And final yet not least, a mono amp is purely a single channel amp and whilst used tochronic purely a woofer or sub woofer, is designed to easily bypass the backside area of the sign. Wattage is an arbitrary subject and relies upon on what you attempt to do. in case you intend to fill a stay overall performance hall, you like a lot of ability. If all you pick to do is blow the glass out of the back of your hatch back, then not fairly lots. in case you fee your listening to over a projected existence span of a minimum of 70 years, 50 watts in line with channel on a motor cycle is greater suitable than sufficient at highway velocity and donning a helmet.
