The Battle of Tours, 732. It essentially stopped the Arabs from encroaching into Europe. They had conquered Spain and France/central Europe was next.

From Wiki:

The battle pitted Frankish and Burgundian[7][8] forces under Austrasian Mayor of the Palace Charles Martel against an army of the Umayyad Caliphate led by ‘Abdul Rahman Al Ghafiqi, Governor-general of al-Andalus. The Franks were victorious, ‘Abdul Rahman Al Ghafiqi was killed, and Martel subsequently extended his authority in the south.

If I'm not mistaken, Martel is the grandfather or great grandfather of Charlemagne.

Charles Martel won the Battle of Tours in 732, which saved Europe from the Islamic forces which had previously conquered Iberia. Charles's victory was decisive for world history, since it preserved western Europe from Muslim conquest and Islamization.

The Battle of Vienna (Polish: Odsiecz Wiedeńska, German: Schlacht am Kahlenberg, Ukrainian: Віденська відсіч (Viděns'ka Vidsič), Turkish: İkinci Viyana Kuşatması) took place on September 11 and September 12, 1683 after Vienna had been besieged by the Ottoman Empire for two months.

The large-scale battle was won by Polish-Austrian-German forces led by King of Poland Jan III Sobieski against the Ottoman Empire army commanded by Grand Vizier Merzifonlu Kara Mustafa Pasha. It took place on September 12, 1683 after Vienna had been besieged by Turks for two months. The battle broke the advance of the Ottoman Empire into Europe, and marked the political hegemony of Habsburg dynasty.

Most historians would name the Battle of Vienna, which took place September 11 (yes that's right), 1683.

Here is the Wiki on it:
