I just saw 2 hours of nonstop kick-butt action in "300", and I'm assuming it's historically accurate.

Hempeater, you're really bringing me down with your historical facts, you should be more like Krollohare, with his kinky anecdote.

I knew an Iranian named Xerxes. He was a 6 foot cross-dresser that wore platform shoes with fish in the heels, but his wife did his hair and makeup and they had threesomes with their handmaiden. She was 24 but looked like a 17 year old boy.

Dont believe everything you see in a movie. It might be accurate but it also might not all be true. Ever hear of literary license?

Answer: No one really knows. No one's alive that actually knew him.

Xerxes Height

Of course I would. Why not? There was this great couple in high school and she was about 5 feet tall and he was almost 7 feet tall. Yes, it was unusual to see someone with that much difference in height but after I noticed the height difference I noticed how lovingly they looked at one another. They married and are still together to this day. (30 plus years, quite a feat in today's world) If you were someone that couldn't tolerate others staring at you, then you probably would not be able to withstand the stares. But it doesn't bother me. My last love (God Rest His Soul) was beautifully tall and dark and I am short with a pale complexion. In this little red-neck town we got stared at all the time. And not nice stares either. We made "our" song...'Let's Give Them Something To Talk About.' People will talk. People will stare. Kind people will do neither. Are you kind? If you have to really think about it, then the answer is "no."

basically nothing about that movie was historically accurate. The reason the spartans only sent 300 men to the battle scene which I believe was called thermoaplye, was to act as a delaying action so the spartans could assemble their army to destroy the persians 100,000 man army. they didnt come to greece by boat, they came by land. There was actually 5500 greeks at teh battle scene not 300. The reason they died at the end was not because the persians found a goat trail, but because the spartans let their 5000 man allied army to go home because they knew they were all going to die eventually, and enough time had already been killed, so the real spartan army was ready for battle. I could go on forever about how inaccurate this movie was. anyhow it was a good movie nonetheless. No xexerces was not 8 feet tall, althoug he may have been a cross dresser

Im not sure after seeing that goat looking thing dressed in jewels among the 5/6ths naked girls.

And I doubt elephants and rhinos as big as the ones in the movie are common...

Not to mention monsterous humanoids.

As for Xerxes... well here's a relief of him:

And it doesn't look like a bald, [awesomly] pierced, 8 foot cross dresser... Looks like he had a beard actualy... And preffered actual clothes.

Here's another, bigger picture of the same thing:

no he was, from my studies, about 6' and handsome. If not why did all the women of Persia flock to be his next wife when Queen Vashti was banned. Hollywood is stupid and plus that is just a myth that was never proven and plus from my studies again, Persia defeated Sparta and then marched on Greece.

and the follow-up question, did he consider himself a god-king? The hollywood presentation made good play for entertainment purposes. Those wanting historical accuracy, stick with the History Channel....
