I am a loyal fan of Survivor, but I just don't get it the whole starving thing. Right now on the Fiji Islands there is one team who is dominating and the other team is sitting around wasting away because they have no food. WHY? Doesn't it seem reasonable if you were in that situation you would spend every single waking moment looking for food? They can use the materials around them to fashion a net for fishing. I just don't understand why they are not constantly looking for food. I know that they say they are tired because of lack of food, but doesn't the drive to survive trump tiredness?

Does anyone have a answer to this because it just makes me crazy when I watch them and they are not looking for food.

Here is my take on this:

The previews from next week show Jeff telling them to "drop your buffs" Then there is some big shake up and 2 new tribes are formed. Now, the tribe that has been living the life of luxury is split up. Some of them go back to the luxury, some of them go and starve. Same with the other team... some are now eating, some are not eating still.
I think the powers that be thought about the possibility of this happening, one team getting fat and complacent while the other team starves, just to pull the rug out from under the "Haves" and give some to the "Have Nots".
I agree with you about the sitting around aspect... they should be out there trying to fish and hunt and gather, but I think they are thinking they need to save their strength to win challenges (yeah- like it has helped them so far? They need
FOOD!)
It makes me crazy too, but that little blurb from this upcoming episode has got me cheering , once more, for those underdogs!

They don't show every minute. I'm sure they are eating something, sometimes.

You're right, thought, they should spend a lot of time searching for food, finding sticks to use as spears, catching fish by hand, if necessary.

Earl tried to get them to look for food but they farted around doing it. They aren't even trying to fish by making their own spears or poles.
They basically do nothing at challenges too. Anthony and Rita just let themselves be pushed off. There is food there they just can't be bothered to look for it.

it is clear that the are not the sharpest tools in the shed. But somehow they pull Through. Earl, Cassandra, and Dreams are in the Final Three. Gotta love those Spoilers.

the people do usually go and look for food. but the producers and editors think its a waste of airtime. plus a lot of people want to see the drama that goes on between people, and stuff like that. not what their doing to try and get food. also only when they actually get food will they show it for like maybe 10 seconds.

hope this helps. peace ♥

Sorry, I don't have an answer to that either. It does seem very strange. I don't think I've ever seen a team on Survivor in this situation before

I'm not convinced that the producers are giving them like one meal a day. It would be impossible for them to have survived this long on pineapple and water.
