Why dont you do it on corrosion?
Take a steel bolt, an aluminum bolt, and a titanium bolt and put all three under salty water. You can also so different variations of sodium levels and show how it effects the corrosion. I guarantee that rust will form on the steel bolt first... just a hunch =) Sheetmetal is my job.

It's a little late to change your project. Can you try other substances? One that would almost definitely fade it is peroxide or any acne preparation that contains it. Of course, chlorine bleach would also fade it, but straight bleach would probably put holes in it, so you would need to use a diluted solution.
If you can change it, do something relatively simple--there's not time to do anything complicated. If you have a stop watch, you could test the friction of various surfaces. Use a board to make a ramp and then time how long it takes a little car to reach the bottom. (Be sure the board is long enough--at least 4 to 6 feet--otherwise the time would go by too quickly to time.) It is probably a good idea to do at least three runs to be sure the timing is more or less accurate. Next, cover the ramp with different things (foil, cloth, carpet, sand paper, etc.) and time each of them three times. You could also try the ramp at different slopes, if you have time. Then put the data on a chart and graph it. You should probably use the average of the three runs for each surface.

Why don't you stick with your original plan but just change it a little; that way you won't have to start all over again. Get a hold of some styrofoam cups and instead see which liquid the cups can hold the longest. You might wanna change the lemon juice, coca cola and water to other things like gasoline, diesel and/or rubbing alcohol. I hope this helps, good luck.

you should use cotton, it fades faster, or a few different fabrics, as the question you are really asking is what fades red silk fastest. As far as i have ever seen it holds colour pretty well, cotton on the other hand...

I can give you an idea, but it is kind of lame. You could do what color of light is best to grow a plant. It is pretty easy to set up and observe.
