In philosophy the individual is considered a specific level and qualitively original form of being. The unity of the individual is the multiple and diverse aspects of that being.

unity- anything the majority, if not all would like to do in common; diversity- various ways to achieve a particular goal or objective. multiplicity is diversity with somehow a negative connotation - there is diversity but there are partly opposed viewpoints

Whatever humans decide it is. All of these words are human constructs. Any answer to your question will be heavily tainted by culture and education. There is no "real" answer. Only discussion.
