what does 20mm and 50mm differ in telescope lenses?

i wanna know if 50 mm is good for looking at far away planets like jupiter and saturn

A 50mm lens will 'gather' a bit over 6 times as much light as a 20mm lens, so yes, it will give you a 'brighter' image.
