My guess is that you feel like something in your lifeis outside your control, and you are going to get hurt because of it.

Sometimes when I have nightmares, I am able to change them, to make them go my way. Maybe you could change your position while you're falling, so that you are doing a swan dive into the water. I don't know if that would work for you at all. Sometimes you can change your dreams, but sometimes you can't. Bad dreams usually stop if you can change them into something good.

This is a common dream which usually represents underlying fears and feelings of inadequacy and helplessness. Interpret your dream by considering your primary fears, current difficulties, and situations in your life that seem to be on a downward spiral, especially those situations that seem outside of your control (financial, romantic,etc.).
