Republicans fight to the death not to pay taxes. Now that the fruits of their labor have been publicized to the world, are YOU Republican voters finally ashamed at your lack of compassion toward our troops who are giving up their lives for our country ???!

Mr. Who, I do not respect your answer cause you have a Confederate flag as your 'yahoo' image. The Confederate States of America wanted to extend and continue slavery...and this only validates my opinion that you right wingers really are a pack of insensitive and intolerant nob heads.
and, NO, I wouldn't blame the mayor of a city for a tragic car accident.
On the contrary, thousands of lives every year have probably been saved due to public safety laws, which were passed due to the efforts of some passionate and persistant liberal.

Why would the Republicans be ashamed of any misery or pain they've caused for others?
They have no compassion. Only greed and lust for power these days.
As Bush said once during the 2004 electoral debates: "I don't think I've made any mistakes during the last 3 years. In fact, if I did, I would've remembered."

Let see. Under Bill Clinton, the US military was cut 40% in manpower, including doctors, nurses, bioscience officers, medical technicians and medical support troops. Also, 80% of the military hospitals were downsized from hospitals to simple out patient clinics. Also under Bill Clinton, Champus was abandoned and Tricare came in, in which many military families were forced to use civilian medical care. Also under Bill Clinton, those military retirees who thought they would get Champus or military health care for life suddenly found they were in the Medicare boat along with all the people who did not serve a day in their lives.
So of course, the shitty condition of Walter Reed is the fault of the Republicans.
If you are going to "brag" about all the good stuff Bill Clinton did, you also need to mention his policy of screwing the troops.

I'm a liberal Dem who spent six years in the Navy during the Carter administration. I'm ashamed for ALL Americans that our VA facilities are STILL sub standard as they were 30 years ago. But YOU didn't care then did you??
Even now elected officials of BOTH parties are busy posturing instead of resolving the issue. It's not a partisan issue my friend!!

The "Tea party" , in case you've been suitable listening, crosses the boundary between Democrat, Republican, self sustaining, Libertarian, etc. i'm an self sustaining and that i wholeheartedly help the "Tea party". they don't look particularly a political entity yet more suitable of a set espousing to blame moves in authorities. The "Tea party" began as more suitable of a flow hostile to irresponsible authorities spending yet is evolving into something a lot more suitable .................. the voice of the voters in united statesa. who're bored stiff with irresponsible politicians in Washington.

This is yet another example where Cheney says they will have a committee look into it. I can't imagine how many more times they can get away with this. When Bush came in they gutted the VA, reducing many hospitals to skeleton crews. And to add insult to injury, they cut funds for honored Vets retirement homes, even though the money comes from donations given by active duty soldiers. They have no shame, but so far Republicans are not far behind, as they cannot bring themselves to object to the Plundering Herd of Bush/Cheney.

There is an Armed Forces Senate Comittee? And Guess who is on it?
(See below) some of each. "I am a Vietnam Hero" Kerry is on the list. So is Queen Hillary, and "Oldsmobiles don't float" Kennedy..
Has any of them gone over to Walter Reed to snoop around???
A pox on both their houses.

There are some good answers here noting that both parties have a role to play in this. You're just as partisan and Bush himself.

I am just very grateful that it came out so that it could be corrected. VA hospitals have been in a mess for some time. It's not all about Republicans messing up but hopefully we can clean it up.

I don't see how it's the republican's fault. It was another failure of bureaucracy and government. That's nothing new. How do you just pick random events and blame it republicans? Should i blame democrats for the bus full of baseball players falling off a highway ramp in Atlanta because the mayor is democrat. Quit asking stupid questions. There is no shortage of funding for the hospitals. The government has a 3 trillion dollar budget that they get to play with and who the hell are you to say that 3 trillion is not enough.

Oh ya, I hear that military medical services were terrific under Clinton's watch.
Things just went to hell in a handbag when the Republicans took over. Roof started leaking, paint started peeling.
Republicans are most definitely NOT compassionate about their soldiers and airmen. I just can't understand why 75% of those same enlisted folks say they are Conservatives, and 90% of the Officer core says the same?
I don't get it, boggles the mind. Those most effected don't agree that Republicans suck. In fact, by overwhelming majority, they are Conservatives themselves.
Oh, they just wish Clinton would come back. The military is THRILLED about another Clinton in the White House.
