You should wear something appropriate for the kinds of jobs you're applying for.

Usually normal office attire in Singapore (for most companies, but take note that banks and financial institutions are more conservative) is pretty formal.

If you're a guy, a long sleeved shirt and pressed pants are a must. Wear a tie if you're trying for a more professional job. No one really wears a coat to work in Singapore.

For ladies, a smart shirt and a knee length skirt or pants will do. Sensible court shoes. Nothing too revealing.

Good luck! You'll do fine if you exercise some good judgement.

I found it to be helpful if I dressed down instead of pretentious. Grey and navy blue is a good color. When you are addressing your interviewer they will be less likely to be paying attention to what you are wearing and more to what you are sepaking about. What you say in the first two minutes is important to your interview- but the same goes for what you show up weraring. I feel this applies no matter what job you are applying for. You didn't ask this but maybe it will be helpful as well; relax and be yourself. If you believe in yourself as a winner then the interviewer will to. Bringing on the next interview and then the job might just follow this first one. Remember it's all up to how you come across to the interviewer.Be "True to Yourself" it will show through.

Wear clothing consistent or slightly better than what you are expected to wear at work. Be clean and presentable.

Shower, shave (as needed), brush your teeth, comb your hair, iron your shirt and polish your shoes.

If you intend to work in an office or retail environment you need to demonstrate that you know what is expected of your appearance. If they were a shirt and tie, do the same and maybe add a jacket.

If you are going to do physical labor be dressed ready to go to work if they ask you to start immediately. Proper footwear, clean sturdy jeans (no holes), good condition workshirt, hat or bandana if needed, work gloves, etc.

Look at what the people who work for the position you want are wearing, and dress one level up. For example, if they dress casual, then dress business casual.

Be confident and good luck with your interview!

always wear a suit, even if it's just an interview for a retail store. when i worked in retail, i'd ALWAYS see people come in jeans, or even sweats! have some respect for yourself, and take the interview seriously (not saying you won't). close-toed shoes, too. looks more professional.

Something crotchless, like a blouse, seems to always help.
