I've lost a textbook belonging to my school, what should I do? I don't know how I'm going to pay for it because if I tell my parents they're going to kill me! Do I just go pay and then get a new one?

No need to pay for textbooks; just tell your parents and they can work something out.

Schools expect to lose textbooks all the time. Also, schools regularly replace textbooks with new ones. You could luck out and your lost textbook is getting replaced next year.

Regardless, your parents need to get involved.

As a final recourse, buy the same book on eBay for much less than your school will charge.

Good Luck.

If you can pay for it yourself, then certainly paying for it and getting a new one would be your best option. It's possible that the school will loan you a second one while you search for the first one; I'd talk with the teacher of the class for which you were issued the book.
