ask a male co worker or male friend to do it, buy em lunch or something, ask them to help you pick out the right air condition unit

You can do this yourself if you have these provisos:
Permission from the owner of the property if your leasing or renting.
A window that opens and get the measurements of the opening. It's easy just measure the width of the opening to the outside and the height of the sash.
An electrical receptacle (common receptacles are 110 or 115 volts within the proximity of the window.
Look for an air conditioner that has very minimal cooling capacity and will operate on a common receptacle. You might find small air conditioners at the box stores. Just call around. Small room air conditioners are not real heavy like they use to be. Get the a/c and open the window and put it in the window, carefully. This is where a second person might help with lowering the window so the sash rests on top of the air conditioner. Block the part of the window that is open to the outside. Put the plug in the receptacle.
You can do this and when you do it and feel the cool air blowing in the room you'll feel great about your accomplishment.
Go ahead!
and good luck
John

depends on what kind of unit you are installing. Sounds like a window unit which you can do yourself. But keep in mind they will run your electric bill up alot.
