Honesty, trust, respect, a good sense of humor, loyalty, compassion, passion, and one that puts me first as I do her. I have found these characteristics and many more from the woman that I love.

My man already has everything I could want in a partner--
He is kind, caring, understanding, loves the things I talk about, loves me with passion, tells me his feelings, trusting and trustworthy, puts me first, wants to do things I like ( as I will for him as well), began as a friend and will always be my friend.

The most important things to me in a relationship are mutual respect, plenty of affection, great sense of humor, and never taking the other for granted. That one is my deal breaker.

Essential one is integrity. Defined (at least to me) as "doing what they say".
Flexibility would be another. Rigidity sucks. "It's my way or the highway" gets real old, real fast.
Trusting. That they believe what you tell them.
Loving and accepting of who you are in essence (a spiritual being) - I have a long list. e-mail me if interested in more.

I like a man who has ambition, trustworthiness, sense of humor, compassion, loyalty, emotional strength, family-oriented, sexual, and southern is good but not a requirement. (I usually equate southern with being a gentleman)

honesty. Saves money and doesn't buy more than we can afford. And when spends money, we talk it over together.
a good parent...future or otherwise. Shares my religion. Our parents are similar. (I've had some bad experiences which helps me to answer this.)
