It's only a mile... so it should pretty much be a sprint. Don't start out too slow, because before you know it, you'll be coming up on a mile, and have way too much energy left and be kicking yourself for not starting out faster. If you know your time for past timed miles (or if you know what your time is for a 2 or 3 mile run is) divide it out and figure out a pace for a quarter-mile (if you're doing it on a track, figure out what time you need to do 1 lap in), and try to stick to that pace by wearing a watch. But definately stretch really well before you go to bed tonight and before you run your mile, and drink a lot of fluids the rest of today and during the day before gym tomorrow. Good luck!

eat enough complex carbs like pasta or somthing the night before ( sorry this is kind of late, and the night before would really be last night) and then stretch alot the night before. and then stretch a ton right before you run. that should help. good luck!

really stretch the night before and stretch before you run. A quick jog and eating something 2 hours before also helps.

Remember to pace yourself, start out slower and gradually gain speed as you run.

if you trained for it, you should already be in good shape for it.
