I beleive so. If you are happy, then you tend to find happiness in every situation. Rather if you are not happy, you tend to find the negative in any situation. If you are happy, you draw more positive things to yourself, because you are letting off positive vibes. Of course, there are many other important things to life, but overall, if you are happy, you will be guaranteed a fullfilling life. You will constantly be drawing in the things that bring you happiness, and moving away from the things that don't. No matter what your lifestyle, if you are happy, your life will be fullfilling and successful. Because if you do something that goes against what will make your life unsuccessful or unfulfilling, you will be quick to make a change in the situation, to bring it positive again to keep this state of happiness. You must first be happy to create a life of happiness.

Happiness is the most important thing, but happiness depends on a lot of other factors, so there really can't be just one thing that's important.
For instance, one person might need love to feel happiness. Then love would really be the most important thing, as that is what the happiness depends on. For all of us you could say if we didn't know sadness, we would not be able to appreciate happiness, so perhaps sadness is the most important thing.

Happiness is not the most important thing. It's up there at the top, but we should put things above happiness like: being righteous, helping others, seeking our purpose in life, and putting others before ourselves.

Sadly, no, happiness is not the most important thing in life but humans are taught to believe this to fit the conformity status quo. The most important thing in life is learning lessons and helping your soul to realize your wrongs and rights. Seeking the Truth of God's Knowledge is the Most Important Thing in Life. When your soul has learned important lesson from you to carry with it into the next world, then that is the most important thing in Life. When God sees you seeking his Truth of his Knowledge, he approves of you and is pleased with you & your soul.

I think we should have moderation regarding happiness or any other good things in life since we simply can't acquire it alone. It's one of the vanities unless we thrive for happiness as the most important; sometime we encounter suffering as well. Therefore, we should be aware of everything we're supposed to acquire so that we would not be fooled, we need wisdom to learn to be content with it and be prepared for any unwelcome guest in any form with its happy or unhappy effect.

Hmmm, it may not be the MOST important thing in life, but I'd say it's up there on the list. No matter how many wonderful things come your way, how many things you accomplish, people who love you/ you love in return...If you aren't happy about it...or even happy without it, life is kinda wasted on a pesimistic outlook, right? :]

What is important is making this world better because you are here. This means doing kindnesses and being generous when there is need. It means serving God and good and not giving fuel to evil. When you see opportunity to help others and brighten other people's existence you act on it. Ironically, this will give you happiness.
