Okay here is the setting:

I work in a factory, that is very dusty and work around dies that rage from 200-300 degrees. When I first started there we were able to to have water with us at our work station, our lines that we work on. Now new owners have taken over know as the anti christs, who have no clue on what it takes to make the parts in the first place or how it is to work in those condidtions. Especially in the summer time.

So last week I got dehydrated and sick of the crap, so I went to see a doctor and he wrote a work restriction that says that I am to have water with me at my work station when needed.

Oh, I forgot to mention, that the new work instructions that we got from this compnay says that we may not leave our lines for any reason, only when we are on one of our 2 20 min breaks that we get in an 8 hour shift.

Anyways, I go into work and get sent home because my work restrictions violate company policy.
so now what?

You are obviously literate and intelligent. Don't waste your time and energy in a place that doesn't appreciate you. Go back to school, get another job, do something that makes you feel good. Choose something different.

We can't give u the right info if we don't know where u live. Yahoo is everywhere so u could be in Australia the US Canada England etc. We all have different laws, but what u are saying doesn't sound right. In Australia the company would get into a lot of trouble

Yeah, I had a job like that (not as bad), and I quit because they were pushing me and I kept getting injured. I filed a comp case after I got hurt for the 3rd time at work, this time my back. Not worth it. Life is too short to hate your job. Also, during an 8 hour shift, you need at least an hour in breaks (two halves or a half hour and two fifteen minutes). Go to your state's labor board. You have grounds for legal complaints.

Yes, I see. You used to be a union shop, they're breakin it! Have you heard the term "hostile takeover"? Anytime that you are involved with a change in the union or the union/management relationship, its going to get rough. I've seen tactics like this before many times, it isn't always right.

Quit now and save yourself the grief . It sounds like it's run by the Gestapo . The Democrats are not in the White House ..so far you still have rights . Get another job .

Sounds like pretty lousy conditions, and poor management. Can you start a union, or are they vehemently against union forming? You might want to contact a lawyer or civil rights organization. Good luck!

Fight fire with fire. The company bosses are evil? Hire an evil lawyer. I will bet there's a lot in your state's labor laws that limit how far your bosses can go. And also, there are federal regulations that prohibit employers from discriminating against people with health problems.

Sounds like you need to get OSHA and the Labor Board involved. I think you definitely have a case, and a chance to stick it to greedy bastards that don't appreciate nor give an damn for their own workers.

your union should still be able to represent u even if there is no contract - the old 1 should still apply - I feel for u but at least u r union employed

Thats stupid. Sounds like a crappy place. You should report them to the police of someone higher then them. Maybe try and get more people from your work to help you.
