Depends on how you go about it, hon. You can either get a biology degree and take enough education classes to get a credential or you can get an education degree and take enough biology to be certified for that. I'd go with the first course, since you'll actually know what you're talking about in class, but it's your choice.

Get in touch with the Certification Office at whatever CSU campus you're planning on going to. The California State Legislature has a tendency to change the conditions for certification about every two years. The Cert Office will know the current hoops you have to jump through and will be able to help you put your schedule together.

One note: I know you want to teach biology, but if you can get certified in a couple of other fields, it'll not only make you much more employable, but it'll make your school day a lot more interesting as well. Picture teaching the exact same class six times in a row and you'll understand what I'm talking about.

In Australia there is easily greater of a call for for biology instructors because of the fact greater secondary faculties have it as component of their curriculum. while you're finding to very almost assure a job maths and probable physics would try this. good success ;)

If you're looking for a class schedule year-by-year breakdown for FAU, here's what you wanted to see:

http://www.coe.fau.edu/teached/undergrad_sec_prog_bio.doc

That tells you everything you need to know.

Also, I wanted to add that FAU is well known for its excellent education programs, so this would be a good choice for you.

Good luck!
