My boyfriend and I have only been together for a few months...well, since November, but I truly love him, and I'm positive he's the one I want to marry in the future. He feels the same way. Anyways, I'm currently attending a college, but transferring to a smaller college after this semester and moving out of the university apartments and into a rental house with my boyfriend. I have a really good relationship with my parents, and they really like him, but I have to find a way to tell them that we are moving in together. I am completely financially independent from them, and have a nice job along with being a full time student, but I still want them to support my decisions. Any suggestions?

It's not something parents easily welcome. Ask them for advice on that - just pretend that you have not yet decided and you value their opinion. You could say that your bf thinks it's a waste of money since you spend a lot of time together and you somehow agree. Ask them what they think. Please bear with me--you say he's the one---a few months???...he says he loves you???...you are getting an education,??? ---how about him--is he in school?? Does he work??? I mean a REAL job-- not McDonalds--if he loves you and you plan on marrying, he should be saving and planning for the future---he sounds like he wants a friend with benefits---let him marry you first---I will bet a pay check he quits the job within 2 months of you moving in--you will pay all the bills--he will just talk a good game here--probably even threatens to go to another girl if you don't move in. Clever little plan. Wait till after school and you get jobs--then you can have a Real nice life---it won't take long--if he really loves you he will wait. Once you are there it will be next to impossible to get out---you sound like you have no plans here---not good ones, anyway. Sorry, I don't support any of these half baked, love lorn tales of sharing and caring---if you are meant to be married--then wait......oooh what if that baby comes along unexpectedly?? have a nice life and I truly wish the best for you---just speaking from experience here--don't be mad.

I really belive that you should wait because when you move in with someone you see the person for who the really are. Trust me, me and my bf been together for two 1/2 years and we live together for a year and it got to heavy cause we fought more cause we was always around each other and when one of use would go out the other would get mad. Now we each have are our own aparment. And if your partents are understanding the you should just break it two the it see how it works. Good Luck

Just tell them you love them and respect their opinion and then be honest. You sound like a person with a good head on your shoulders and hopefull they will support your decision. If they don't give them time. They usually come around. Good Luck!!!!!!!!

I agree tell your parents your plans, first see if the will agree and give you that permission. Please if you move in together don't rush sex and all that tell you are married. It will mean much more then.

After having a conversation with them, just mention it casually as if its no big deal.

go right out and tell them. i assume you are already of age. if you are, nothing can stop you. just talk to your parents and ask their permission-out of respect.
