I can't believe I'm even asking this but here goes..... Okay, I have had an IUD for nearly 2 years now. After the first 6 months, I started having lighter, barely there periods. About 6 months ago I started having what I called a 3 hour period. It would last as few as 3 or 4 hours up to a day or two. Anyways, this time I haven't had one since December. I take two pregnancy tests every month just in case and they come up negative. I have a little phobia of finding out I'm pregnant at the end of my first trimester of the begining of my second (it's happened twice already). Okay, now that I have you all confused, if you have an IUD, could you get false negative pregnancy test results? I plan on going to the doctor this week or possible next but I'm just trying to get outside opinions.

The IUD will not cause a false negative result...but that doesn't mean that there isn't any possibility of you being pregnant either. False negatives can be caused by an extremely low level of hormones or a faulty test. Your doctor will be able to give you a blood pregnancy test to b e sure. Good luck!

i'm shocked that they are letting you get an IUD at your 6 week examine up....my wellbeing care provider won't do IUD insertion till 10 week PP. they might desire to have the means to insert your IUD jointly as on your era. There individual above is ignorant...Age has no longer something to do with being a candidate for an IUD. maximum IUD candidate had to have had a baby formerly, which at sixteen she has, so she is a candidate.

IUD are horrible. It does not prevent conception! It prevents the baby from attaching to the uterine wall. There has been cases where it didn't work and it was implanted into the baby
