i'm hoping someone can help me with this one, as ridiculous as it may seem with someone my age asking. the truth is i can't remember all of the facts concerning conception, and my 15 yr old son does have questions. i am aware that he has become sexually active with his girlfriend, who is 13. i'm not certain either one is really aware of the consequences, or is really ready for the true meaning of intimacy. they did according to my son become intimate a little over a month ago, no protection, and my son said it wasn't long at all--he said there was insertion, but he took himself out of her when asked to do so. can someone please give me all the risks for teenagers and the chances of pregancy? thank you very much.

any fertile girl (that produces viable eggs) and any boy that can maintain an erection and ejaculate motile sperm can get pregnant.
The most optimum time is when the girl is mid way through her cycle...although for the first year, most new girls have irregular periods, so that may be a challenge to figure out. She is prime from about 11-14 days during her midcycle (if they are regular and 28 days apart) as semen can last in the girl for up to about 96 hours.
Telling him to withdraw before he ejaculates is great, but not good enough...boys can leak that rogue sperm into her vagina, because it is the thrusting action that tells the body to start making lubricant and nourishment for the sperm to be ejaculated and survive...it is that pre-seminal fluid that is just as dangerous...
asking him to wear a condom is great, but he needs to buy one that will fit correctly (yes they are not all the same size)...he may have to try a few to get one that does...it should fit snug but not too tight
make sure that he checks the expiration date (they do expire and get fragile with age), make sure that he knows HOW to put one on...unroll it completely down and leave space at the tip for his ejaculate...after he ejaculates, he will shrink quite soon, so ask him to hold onto it while he is pulling his penis out...do not keep it in his wallet, in the glovebox in the car (or anywhere hot, as heat can cause the latex to break down as well)
tell him also that if he needs lubrication (if she is too dry, it will be uncomfortable and the friction could cause the condom to tear), use only a water soluble (KY jelly) lubricant as a petroleum based product could disentegrate the latex
now for an important note...the parents can be held responsible if their minor son fathers a child and the girls' parents want financial help...when the son turns 18, then he becomes the responsbible party to child support for 13 more years.
is the couple also ready for the emotional baggage that goes along with being intimate?
what about STD's...you son not wearing a condom, was the girl a virgin, is he setting himself up for a deadly disease? or giving one to somebody?
good luck and you sound like a real reasonable mom!

How Does Someone Get Pregnant

If they are both into puberty, so that she menstruates and he produces sperm, they can have an "accident". There can be some leakage, even if he doesn't ejaculate. They are both children, still, emotionally, and should not be having physical relations yet. Especially if they're not prepared for consequences. Of course, if either has had some sexual contact with others, there is also the risk of infections, even if only by oral sex. Remind them that not all Sexually Transmitted Diseases are curable.

wow, 13 is pretty young, I'm not agreeing that you should continue to let them be sexually active but if you are then you need to buy the boy some condoms and get her on birth control. Their chances of becoming pregnant are pretty much the same as every one elses.

Since both your son and his girlfriend are both under 35, there is a 25% chance of her getting pregnant.
For pregnancy to occur, your son's sperm must sucessfully go deep enough into his girlfriend, during her period to fertilize an egg. If that happens, and the egg manages to latch onto the uterine wall, then she will become pregnant.
Teen pregnancy is a very bad thing, and you should take measures to stop both of them.

How can you have a son and not know how to get pregnant? If she's already had her period there's always a chance of pregnancy ! You need to stress to both of them "safe sex" ! If they don't know that they are not mature enough. I don't think they are anyway. Especially the girl.

By having sex. Anytime you have sex without protection you can get a chick pregnant. Go get some books in a bookstore about teen pregnancy.

are you the parent? did you adopt?
conception takes place when a MAN and a WOMAN have penis/vagina sex without any form of birth control. the sperm fertilizes the egg and presto! a baby 40 weeks later!!
you might want to talk with the children with the girl's parents present. your son could be convicted of rape.
