But seriously - what brought about the sloth?

Honestly, I have no clue..but I have to say I find these animals fascinating...and if I had to equate any creature on earth to myself..this is the animal I would use......and the older I get the more like them I become...maybe that's it...they start out as decrypted old humans..that take to the trees..to escape ungrateful children who are trying to get them to sign everything over to them so they can stick them in an old folks home and forget about them.......than gradually after being so still ,so as not to be caught, they gradually start to adapt and change...ending in the sloth form....
ok, just me being an idiot..... : (

I hope someone has your answer...I truly love the sloth...and if reincarnation is true..I was either one of these animals in a past life..or I am heading to be one in the next ...with my luck I will be eaten right off the bat by one of those harpy eagles .... : )
