Yeah. We have a salad bar restaurant chain in Queensland, Australia called Sizzler. It was closed a few years ago because people were getting food poisioning from other people grabbing food with their bare hands, sneezing and coughing on food, etc.

I've been there plenty of times since it reopened. They now have guards that watch over the food.

All restaurants violate the health codes. I know too many people who work in some. The only time they dont violate the codes is when they know an inspector is going to show up.

I rarely eat out.

Yeah beacuse they would be watched by the health ispectors more closely after being shut down and the place would have been fully cleaned. There are a lot of restaraunts out there that arent up to scratch and you wouldnt even know it. Even if a restaraunt looked really clean, doesnt mean that in the daily production of goods that everything follows foodsafety guidelines.

It depends.

If I had eaten there before and never gotten sick and really enjoyed the meal and service, than yes, I would remain loyal and eat there again. Also, if it was under new management or ownership than I would probably consider going there if I hadnt been there previously.
If I had never eaten there and it was still ran by the same people, I would probably eat elsewhere for awhile before trying it just to hear the new reviews from other diners.

Yes. Before eating in a restaurant in about 175 other countries in the world, including any in Mexico, in example.

Our dirtiest restaurants are right up there with the cleanest, by world standards.

That would be the best time to go there! When a place is shut down like that, they have to pass a major inspection in order to reopen. That means they must be SPOTLESS to reopen. Best time to go, you know it's clean then!!

no...that happend here....someone puked in the buffett and the restaurant just scooped out the puke and continued to serve the food....soooooo many people got sick......they re-opened a few weeks later. I don't think a single person went to eat there and it ended up closing down for good

Probably. I've seen some disgusting things in restaurants that have caused me to want to avoid them but I always go back.
Might help me lose some weight if could quit dining at these places.

Yes I would but only right after the place re-opened, because they had to pass alot of inspections to be able to re-open, and will be watched even closer after being closed down ...
