Because they cannot be replaced - that is the nature of things that are considered intangible and are lost. However, there are other ways to look at things. An intangible cost could be valued less by an individual for one if they only think that things that can be priced and quantified are valuable or a person does not value intangible things.

Because those are the things that can not be replaced or fixed easily. Intangibles strike to a persons core and personalize the crimes, creating the pain and hurt that make them so terrible

Because we don't shoot enough of them. Nah, joking. Its usually a case of trauma that goes along with it. Nobody knows when the personal nightmare is really over.
