I think that it would be better if you told us your situation. Do you have to support anyone? If you are living at home with your parent's and don't have to pay any rent - Sure- take the job.
Is this a full time position?
And most Certainly that is the pay rate before Taxes. They really don't know how much taxes are going to be taken out of your check before hand.
As for as the train ride 1 hour is not bad, as long as you are comfortable with the pay.

It is only worth going for if they will be able to offer you more money or promotions after twelve months. You'll be taking home less than five hundred dollars a week, I hope you are living at home and not planning to buy a car or anything.
If you can see this job leading toward the fulfilment of your career goals then take it but if it's just a job you may as well find something closer to home that pays the same because you'll save money on train fare.
24000 is before tax, but the super comes on top of that.

Usually the $24K is the amount that you will receive as your salary from a yearly stance. NOW, understand you may be able to receive overtimes hours which may increase your salary BUT the $24K is what you will earn in a year unless you receive a pay increase and/or promoted etc.

Now is it worth it? Well if the opportunity will offer you more experience and you think you will enjoy it, take it. If the costs to commute their each day and the time it takes to get there is not financially equal then you may want to reconsider. You may also be able to ask for more like $27K in order to cover the expenses..

In some cases they will comply especially IF you have more to bring to the job.

Point being..count your cost, look at what you will be doing and if you think it is best go for it! Once you are in the door and prove that you are an excellent employee THEN other opps may come.

Pray on it.. ask for more and see where it lands. Remember you have been offered the position.. but explain to them you have to consider the costs (commute, pay etc)..

Best wishes and remember the sky is the limit.

It is a great opportunity for an 18 year old. It is likely before taxes but still a great deal. Go for it! Best of luck.
