Leopard Gecko's do very well on Calcium sand. It's a little more costly, but cleans well with a 'hand-sifter'. Just make sure it gets fresh water in a clean dish daily, fresh Meal-Worms, and a bonus treat once/twice a week of a " Pinkie " mouse. Yep, they pig out !! Good Luck...

If it only eats a little dirt it will be fine. If you have dirt as a substrate that I would change it. Use a fine calcium sand instead. The calcium sand will not impact the lizard I use it in all my cages and have never had a problem.

Should not be a problem unless you are using an uncommon ground material. Many think that dirt, stones and other stuff picked up by itself or while eating aid in digestion.

I agree with It not being a problem but I also agree with being careful with what your using for there ground cover in my opinion repti-bark is the best way to go. also they dont have great eyesight so it is very common for that to happen while they are chasing their food.
