not people over the internet you have never met, but people you could call about a problem and meet for coffee - not just acquaintances - but real freinds? Also, if you dont mind, give me an idea of your age.
I'm trying to figure out if I'm "lonely" or if I just feel that way.
Thanks

I have many friends for coffee. I have much fewer for real troubles. I am always a little lonely, but maybe it is the human condition when you care about the world and others to feel some sadness. There is much to be sad about. I try to make the world brighter by smiling and acting the part. Perception is reality. If it is any comfort, there is the saying "alone in a crowd" for a reason. Sometimes loneliness isn't about people. Maybe you are lonely for time to be you. Do something you enjoy by yourself like go shopping, read, and you will learn to be good company to yourself and it won't feel so bad. I do know what you are talking about. I am middle aged, but I have always felt this way.

I'm 42 and have 4 people who I would call anytime about anything. Only one has been in my life since elementary school. The other three have become my great friends during the past 10 years. I used to feel lonely, don't know how old you are, but for me at least, time has changed my feelings about loneliness.

Two. Her name is Kayla and his name is Reggie and there a few things that make them good friends. Kayla is ALWAYS there for me. We don't hang out alot, but when i need help she is the first to rush to me and do everything in her power to help. Even when she doesn't approve...she supports. And Reggie, we went through this like 4 months where we were both so busy we NEVER talked...and then i talked to him and it was like we had been talking everyday for hours, we always pick up right where we left off. He would do anything for me and not say one negative word about it...even if he was miserable. I'm 15 but i have already been stabbed in the back more times then a murder victim. You're not a loser! you just need to find people who appreciate and understand you...and i know from experience that is REALLY hard. Good luck kiddo :]

I'm nineteen years old and I have one Real Friend - my Husband! We've been married for 4 years and we've been together through thick and thin. We've seen it all and experienced many firsts together. My husband and I have a whole lot in common because we are the same person, we have the same b-day (mine is May 17th & his is May 18th), we fell in Real Love when we met each other, etc.
I also have one Real Internet Friend, who I plan on meeting. My friend, Rosie - Rosie and I plan on meeting each other in real life because we had an instant friendship that's based on Honesty, Longevity, Commitment, and Trust. We connected immediately and now we have something genuine where we plan on being best friends forever.

I have two good friends. But it is not quantity it is quality. If you go by looking at the amount of friends you have it doesn't mean anything. You can have a lot of friends and still be lonely! Oh and I am 45.
