ESPN has been talking all night about the reasons Syracuse possibly got left out and the only reason that comes to mind is that in the non-conference schedule Syracuse played nobody away from home and the teams they played at home that are in the tournament beat them and both schools were midmajors (drexel and wichita st). Personally I think Syracuse got snubbed. 10 wins in the Big East. Finished ahead of Nova and tied with marquette, and both those teams made the tournament. Who has Georgetown lost to in the past 15 games? Nobody but Syracuse. It is a travesty...and I think Syracuse got robbed and the NCAA owes them an apology. No excuse for putting in a team like Xavier over Syracuse..no excuse.

Seems to be the non-conference games:
""Boeheim has long been criticized for the Orange's non-conference schedule, which this season also included wins over Colgate, St. Bonaventure, Baylor, Hofstra, Holy Cross, Canisius, Northeastern, UTEP, and St. Francis of New York. Syracuse did schedule difficult opponents in December in Drexel and Wichita State, and the Orange lost both games at home. ""
Maybe a few wins against stronger out of conference opponents would have made a difference. But then I have a hard time with some of the smaller conferences getting an automatic bid just because they stay in small conferences and don't have to play the stronger teams. To put them in cuts out a team that could run circles around that weaker team. I guess for Davidson and Wintrop to get in, some bigger schools sit out.
Don't think it's fair, but it's a good case for a senior division one tourney and a junior division one tourney.

F....ing Crazy. The NCAA is the worst run major sports body . That says a lot when you consider who runs Hockey and Baseball. They won 5 of their last 6 22 wins on the year in the Big East Conference maybe second to the ACC, maybe , but I am not even sure of that. They beat G Town a very solid club. The NCAA must think the teams they chose are better then Cuse , but I could pick 15 non league tournament winners they are better then. Answer this one also. the Big East is as strong as last year and they got 8 in which they deserve this year 6? The NCAA can KMA. Very ticked off.

I have know idea. How did Stanford and Arizona get in? The PAC 10 is over rated, UCLA could go far, but thats it. Syracuse got screwed, no way the PAC 10 should have as many teams in the tourney as the Big East.

Same reason WVU did they got hosed and replaced by teams nobody has ever heard of. WVU and Syracuse could beat any of 10 teams picked above them.
