I constantly pull out my hair, my eyebrows, eyelashes, when I am still, like watching a movie, or reading, I mean, I'm not getting bald spots or anything, but it's become a little worrisome to me. I constantly catch myself doing it, and I don't realize I am!

Sounds like you have a nervous habit. I'd compare it to my constantly biting my nails. You don't have to be nervous to do it, but you do it anyway. It's a tough habit to break. I've gone a year without biting my nails before, but I'm back at it again. You just have to try to make an effort to pay attention to what you're doing so you can make yourself stop.

Good luck! ^.^

It definitely sounds like trichotillomania. I've been dealing with it almost my entire life. If it worries you, you should definitely seek some help. There have been people who have had positive results from medications and/or cognitive behavioral therapy. Personally, I haven't found anything that works. Like you, I don't even realize I'm doing it until it's done. Thats very common.

The last thing I read about it indicates it's either an impulse control disorder, an compulsive disorder and now (I don't know why) they are linking it to Tourette's Syndrome somehow.

properly appears like an obsessive compulsive affliction. issues you're able to do i will think of of incorporate positioned on a ponytail for a at the same time as so as that the hair is out of your face and you will not choose to pull it out using actuality maximum folk with a gentle ocd do no longer choose to look unkept. next see what you're able to do to alleviate any rigidity complete or disturbing emotions on your existence. try getting extra sleep. Having extra intercourse in case you're an grownup and have an significant different (no to no longer get somebody else to pull your hair LOL), and ultimately consume properly and often yet in smaller quantities consistent with sitting. This final element is with the help of the fact some people who pull their hair are only no longer getting good nutrition and their hair is definitely feeling in any different case and it annoys them.

Its sounds like trichotilimania (which i probably didn't spell right)

Anyway it's a nervous disorder where a person picks and picks out their hair. You should go see a psychiatrist for it I think. Meanwhile...I don't know when you do this but I would try wearing gloves to stop myself from doing that.

also i forgot to put that they think it's related to Obsessive Compulsive Disorder or something. You might get medicine for it if you cannot control it with behavior therapy but if you do get medicine for it it will probably be an antidepressant because that's what they use for OCD.
