What do you do on EXTREMELY long road trips?
I sing along with the radio... Drives everyone nuts XD... Also, I have a debate about what to have for lunch with my sister... :D

Well, fine. What do you do when you are on an extremely long trip without any sort of electrical device except for radio and possibly tv?
Personally, I would kill myself... XD nah, just kidding...

When I travel with my kids we play word games together or just tell good stories. I don't let them use Ipods or headsets because I am not the chauffeur and I expect to be amused by them while I drive.
LOL...if any of them started chanting "Are we there yet?" or singing "100 bottles of beer on the wall" I am afraid they would find themselves on the side of the freeway waiting to catch a new ride!

What I do is just sit there and try to entertain myself. lol
I always say Are we there yet to my parents or to the driver of the vehical. it's so funny.. and I sing to myself or play video games..
but when my old Pep band went to Spokane, WA for Basket Ball state, we would bring Monopoly or scrabble and play it on the bus... or I would bring an extra pillow and a blanket and try to sleep... which sucks trying to do that on a bus..
I also sing to the radio.. and anoy people by stating lines from Dumb and Dumber.. "according to the map, we only went 6 inches" and also "radio, who needs radio, ready harry? Mock.. blah blah blah" And it's so funny. I'm also a back seat driver to my mother. it's just tooo funny. ha ha she get's soooo anoyed. Oh yeah and I dance to myself also... which is funny to look at the people next to me and their facial expression is just priceless.... or I just sit there and be quite too.. but that's rare.. lol and I also debate over lunch or I just say I don't care..
And that's what I do!!! Oh yeah and I listen to my CD Player.
But yeah.. if I didn't have an electronic device I would just sleep or just talk to myself.. lol

I understand your pain!!! We "drove" from Texas to Alaska....1,0000000000 miles trip.
(ok I exaggerated by a few miles). I bought some drawing paper and colored pencils, a cross stitch kit, that has the picture printed on the canvas with instructions as to which colors to use where. I took magazines, and thank goodness, we stopped along the way and did some sight seeing.

I drive from Brockton MA (20 Mi S of Boston) to albany/ Norway airea of Me. and If I drive my self (THANK GOD FOR MP3 PLAYERS!!!) no raido up there, well you have hick raido. Which is better than when I went to school in Limestone Me (Presque Isle "The Big County") Because from Holton - Mars Hill there was no raido and from Mars Hill - PI. there was frech raido. If I'm not driving I play stragity games on my laptop (As long as the AC Inverter annd cigerate liter is working) you who live in he big county or have gone to school up there know what I meen, weather it be UMPI or Loring Job Corps. ..

Gee, I am SOOOO Glad that those days of kids in the car for the long haul between Duty Stations is OVER .....
I did put in the car for them games, toys, coloring books and crayons, planned interesting/odd/unique stops along the way, played the "License Plate" game ... etc etc etc.

If I'm driving, I like to drive.
If I'm a passenger, I read, stare out the window, sing along to music, annoy the driver and sleep.

well, usually i just sleep, but it depends on if your driving or not. if your a passenger and theres others in the car. you should games. theres like games that are designed just for road trips. but if you wamt you could just sleep, lol or have an interesting conversation with someone whom is willing to actually listen to you.

watch a few movies, play trivia through two-way radio with the other cars, talk, spend about an hour negotiating gas stops, pit stops and food stops between all the cars invovled..

play games, like the billboard game of the alphabet game, or sleep that seems to pass a lot of the time, reading, and I know that the road gets bumpy but you can try to write, or you can buy the modern day technology, like the portable DVD players, or you mp3 players.
