AIM problems!!?

I have AIM on my laptop and whenever I try to sign on a message appears saying server error occurred I tried uninstalling it and installing it again I tried getting a new SN but nothing works what do I do ? can someone please help me!!

Your router or firewall may be blocking the port used to access the server. Find out if you have a router and unblock the port and do the same for any software firewall (Windows Firewall asks you if you want to unblock, keep blocking this program, etc., click unblock).
