I have a pair of 06 burton freestyle's right now. they are a little big on me and im planning on getting some new bindings. Ive been looking at burtons line and I really dont know what i should get. im going to be doing 90% of my riding in the terrain park hitting boxes and butters, ive kinda been checking out the mission or the cartel, but im still open to suggestions. the only thing that kinda scares be about the cartel is the highback, its supposed to be the highest one in the burton line, is it too high? is the superstrap any nicer fitting than the luxstrap or is it just something to get you to spend more? what about the convertible toe strap VS the regular one? I was also checking out the Mission poncho villa version and it comes with the upgraded superstrap for your ankle and the super capstrap that is found on the P1's and C60's. the only thing is that the poncho villa model looks kinda cheap in the pictures, but it could be different when you see them. Any help is appreciated.

Cartel's over Missions in my opinion and it's all for the Superstraps as they are the most comfortable straps I've used. As far as the convertible capstrap over the regular strap question, it all comes down to what you prefer. Personally, I think capstraps are one of the single greatest advancements in binding tech ever and I'll never use a 'regular' toe strap again. The Cartel highback is only a teeny-tiny bit bigger than the mission highback and I seriously doubt you'd feel the difference.

In the end though, you really can't go wrong with either binding. It all depends on how much you have to spend and weather or not you want a stiffer, more responsive binding (cartel) or a softer, more simple binding (mission).

I've ridden both the Mission and the Cartel, and definitely prefer the Cartel. I have Cartels on my UNINC and my Twin, and have had no problem with them, and the response and feel is superb. I don't notice the highback being too high, and I'm fairly short 5'6". The nice thing about this year's capstrap is that it has little ridges inside that hold your toe better. A lot of the capstraps are just smooth inside and can lead to the strap sliding up and over your toe. I really can't remember the strap on the Mission sorry. As far as the convertible strap part, I honestly can't answer on that, because I don't see a need to convert it, for me toe strap is so much better than over-the-foot any day. BTW riding the Mission, it didn't feel as if it was made to the same level of quality as the Cartel. Hope this helps.

I would say get the missions over the cartels, but to be honest with you, I would probably opt for either Ride or Rome bindings personally. That doesn't answer half of the questions you asked, but I figured I'd give my two cents. You'd probably get much better answers posting on the burton forums.

I've heard that missions are pretty good, don't know about cartel. I currently have Ride bindings and wasn't too impressed, but maybe I'm just unlucky.

y are u limited to burtons they aren't the best

the cartels are better, hence there more expensive you just gotta get used to highback its supposed to help but i would get the rome 390s i just got them cuz everyone is raving about them and they're filthy and they're just as expensive as the missions

Not really answering your question, but i second/third the Rome 390 bindings. Good deals on them right now on Ebay.
