Lets say your walking down the street and you ask a guy for a quarter to ride the bus and the guy just keeps walking so u cuss him out and call him some bad names. The guy goes home and kills himself. Who's at fault for his suicide? The guy who cusses the other guy out or the guy that just keeps walking?

Well the guy cursing at him didn't help things, but taking your own life is strictly a decision of the person taking it. No one is to blame for what another ultimately does. It's like someone who says I will kill myself if it rains. It's not the rains fault. It's in the mind of the beholder - creating a situation where the only solution is death.

No one's really at fault because everyone gets cussed at and some people just take things more personally than others. Things like that are part of life. Someone who is suicidal could just as likely commit suicide if they lost their job or if they thought someone "looked at them the wrong way" because they attribute everything to themselves when it might not have anything to do with them at all. That doesn't mean that a boss should refrain from laying off anyone because of the chance that someone could commit suicide. If the guy who cusses the other guy knew he was suicidal and acted maliciously, then it would be his fault.

It is no one's fault. Nobody MADE him kill himself, he probably had a mental illness. Most people that were cussed out by someone would just be like "Wow, what a prick" and move on, someone is mentally ill would think it is their fault, they're worthless, etc. Although the dude who wanted the quarter may have upset the guy, it wouldn't be this persons fault if the guy killed himself. Suicide is a sad thing, just never anyone's fault.

The guy who commits suicide is mentally ill - all the screaming and cussing would not let a rational person take his own life.

People are responsible for their own actions. It takes a lifetime of troubles to drive a person to suicide. Hopefully, somebody close will lead them to help before suicide, but in the end it is the suicidal person that chooses to take their life.

Don't be that person if you can avoid it and you can avoid cursing someone who can not or will not respond to your situation.
