Let's see . . . I remember MTV starting out and being told never to turn it on that 'bad' channel. Ha - that made us want to watch it more and more. The same went for The Simpsons - which are quite mild now, but were controversial then! Good ol' Cindy Lauper, Michael Jackson when he looked black, lots of neon, big hair and rock 'n' roll at an eccentrically bad period. Although, since I'm a kid of the 80's I like the music even though I know it's not of any great caliber. The Oliver North Scandal, Reagan and Soviet political stuff, . . . I don't recall much from politics, but I was born in '76, so it wasn't on my radar. I guess that's all I recall.

The eighties were something of an icky decade. Mostly because of the bad music. Anyway, one of the best things to happen was that the Berlin Wall was dismantled in November 1989. One of the worst, John Lennon murdered in 1980.

It was a big deal when the Berlin Wall came down in 1989. Experts predicted that it would have taken decades more.

If your parents were doing drugs in the 60's, that could explain it.

Lionel Richie, Elton John, Rod Stewart, and Paul McCartney were big, too.

Most of the people that I have talked to have remembered almost everything about the 80's, it just may be some things they don't want to remember, I loved the 80's. that era produced Rick Ashley and Wham!! I could go on for days about the 80s...

I really remember the 1980's. That is the decade that all employers decided to restructure their firm or company. I never had any problems getting and/or keeping a good job; however, my employer decided on restructure (was in my mid 50's) so they hired a 24 year old college graduate to replace me. THEN ASKED ME TO STAY A FEW WEEKS LONGER TO TRAIN HIM.

If you grew up in the eighties it's kind of hard to forget all the new wave music and the big hair bands.

I LOVED the '80s! I was in high school....music was GREAT....cars were full of MUSCLE.......clothes were...well, okay....not so great (looking back) but there were so many good things that came about back in the '80s.

The first test tube baby....It was the age of *The Valley Girl*...the Rubix cube......the cordless phone was introduced...so many things.....

The one negative that comes to mind....HIV and Aids came to light....forever changing the way people viewed sex.....
