well, I am going to visit LA for the first time, and will have a day on my own and my friends will be busy... Do you think it will be fun to visit universal studio all alone? Any better suggestions to spend that day?!

I agree that you should have posted this question under Los Angeles instead of Orlando for better answers but I will say there are TONS of things to do in LA alone but probably wouldn't go to Universal alone because it would be lonely...not as much fun to go on rides and see shows by yourself but there are things you could do like do the star homes tours, shop on rodeo drive...

I wouldn't recommend going by yourself. It's just not as enjoyable. There are other options, such as going a little further south and checking out Tijuana or even the San Diego Zoo. If you're into shopping, LA is pretty loaded with places to shop.
Another option is to go to a televised show, such as the Tonight Show. You can check out some free TV shows to visit, using this link http://www.ocatv.com/.
You may not want to drive too much if it's your first time in LA. The traffic can be pretty overwhelming if you're not used to it.

There are lots of great things to do in So Cal alone.... If you like to gamble hit up one of the casinos.
