when determining who has a better full house, the three of a kind hand is used to determine the better hand

so

KKK33 beats QQQ77 because KKK > QQQ
the fact that 77>33 is irrelevant

P1 has eights full of tens and P2 has tens full of eights. The highest three of the full five determine the winner in this situation, so the three tens beat the three eights. I hope this helps.
If there are ever flushes (lower than a full house, or 'boat') competing, spades beat hearts, hearts beat diamonds, and diamonds beat clubs.
As you probably know, a flush (five mismatched cards of the same suit) beats a straight (five cards of any suit being in chronological {numbered} order) and four of a kind beats everything except a straight flush, and the highest natural poker hand is an ace high straight flush, also called a royal flush. The only hand that beats a royal flush (and only when all the players agree to having 'wild' cards) is five of a kind.

p2 has the best hand with a full house, 10's over 8's compared to p1's full house of 8's over 10's.

The 3 cards with the highest value basically are what wins the hand. This case being 3 10's.

Player 2 has the higher full house because they have 3 tens and 2 eights. Player 1 only has three eights and two tens. 3 tens beat 3 eights so...

Player 2 wins the pot with 10's over 8's

Player 2 wins because the bigger three of a kind wins in a full house. http://www.theultimatepokerguide.com has some explaination of these kind of situations in their rules if you need a visual example.
