Coretta Scott King, Harriet Tubman, Harriet Jacobs, Rosa Parks, Sojourner Truth, Lucretia Mott, Mary Ann Shadd Cary, Harriet Beecher Stowe. These are but a few of the brave women who helped to end slavery through courage and perseverence. bell hooks, Maya Angelou, Toni Morrison are all contemporary writers who address the issues of racism.
