Nobody who watches wrestling thinks it's 'real' anymore, just as people who watch movies don't think that aliens are actually attacking earth or that somehow Charlie Sheen's dad is president. These same people also know that the ending is predetermined. They know that when Rocky steps into the ring, the outcome was known before filming even began. Some people don't believe that wresting fans are capable of making this distinction. We are. We suspend our disbelief, just like people watching plays, movies, television, radio dramas, magicians, and fireworks.

Wrestling is fake. Mr. McMahon and the WWE publicly acknowledged this years ago. The fans knew for years that is fake and it made sense to do so. In fact, this gave the company more ways to make money.

While wrestling is fake, the moves are real. People can get seriously hurt or even killed if a move is not performed correctly Certain things that take place in the match actually occur. Chair shots to the head for example. Or a fistfight might actually break out between two wrestlers who hate each other.

Remember Pro-wrestling is entertainment. The westlers' are athletic actors and they are suppose to tell a story in the ring. They actually have to go to school and learn the moves.

I have been a wrestling fan for years. I would never expect wrestler to put his body on the line for permenant injuries or kill themselves for my entertainment.

No pro-wrestling is not real although one wrong move could spell disaster as it has done in the past. It is entertainment as emphasised by Vince McMahon changing the name of his company to World Wresling "Entertainment".

To say that the audience is being cheated by guys going out there 300 days a year, putting their lives on the line each and every time they step through the ropes is like saying what is the point of politics or movies or tv programs in general.

Watch pro-wrestling, be entertained, enjoy the story lines but don't ever take it seriously. If you want to be serious watch UFC or K1.

I wouldn't call it cheating the audience. Wrestling is what is referred to as a work, meaning that the outcomes are booked in advance, but the athleticism is still very real. It is really no different than a movie or any other form of enertainment like a theatrical production.

Is it cheating the audience when on, lets say for the sake or argument, Law & Order that the person who is playing the dead person isn't really dead or that the actors aren't real detectives? No its entertainment, thats all it claims to be and its the same with wrestling. Pro wrestling is entertainment and if you are entertained by it how can you be cheated by it. If you are not entertained by it nobody is holding a gun to your head forcing you to watch it.

There are actual people throwing other people around in the ring. But they are trained to absorb the punches, kicks, and throws. And I think that this is pretty common knowledge. And most if not all of the crowd knows this. They still choose to go though. It is entertainment and a hobby. It's like going to a movie or watching television. They get to suspend their own life and view a fantasy for a couple hours.
