I am 18 years old and i just made the decision to drop out of school. I take full credit and i accepted my action. The stress from my family and the way they act towards everything is taking over me. My father and Mom think they are some royal people because they have money.. to me money is not everything. My mom blows up at me and is always telling me what i do wrong. She is going through another divorce, and she blames me. God i wish i just could list everything she has ever done, so ya'll could see.. but i think ya'll get the picture. My mom slapped me today and then called my dad over here.. and they got on my case for dropping out of school. They told me i needed to go to a mental doctor, and my dad told me that he wants to take me out back and beat the **** out of me. He told me i wasn't his daughter... and then i found out my mom calls him and tells him everything i say about him.. but the funny thing is my mom starts talking **** f

She is going through another divorce.. my brother doesn't talk to her... and by the way my brother went to private school and was on the football team so he is the hero of the whole family!! but he went to college and failed out and now he is in jail... but he didn't give up his buddy's name so he still is there hero. I dated a boy that they didnt like .. so they did everything they could to break him and i up. My dad told me they called me a whore, and that he just used me... and that he told everybody he had sex with me.. and then he called me white trash!! and he was a good guy.. he just didn't have money. i hate that they think like that.. I want to get away from this.. am i doing the right thing?

OK, I'm a mom, but I dropped out of high school myself and REGRETTED IT. I went back to school and graduated but I regretted my decision to quit school, it makes it MUCH harder to get a job, even with a G.E.D. Yes, you are old enough to make the decision and to move out, but have you thought about staying with one of your friends and their family so that you can continue the education that you started? You family loves you, they just don't know HOW to show you that they love you. That's the funny thing about parents, they parent the way that they were parented......sometimes it sucks and othertimes it's a blessing. Your parents are angry at you and rather than be rational, they are lashing out at you. Please, please...I BEG YOU, GO BACK TO SCHOOL. Yes, you are 18, that's what I said....Yes, you can move out....that's what I did......It was HARDER TO GET A JOB, thus NO APARTMENT, HAD TO LIVE WITH FRIENDS......It was HARDER to do ANYTHING because I had no money, because I had NO JOB...You end up with a DEAD END, GO NOWHERE job...that's what your parents are FREAKING out about. You always hear people say, If I knew then what I know now.....It's the TRUTH. I"m now in my 30's with 3 children and am divorced....Sometimes I wonder, is it the decisions that I made in my younger years....and my answer is Yes....The decisions that you make NOW will impact you the rest of your life. I don't believe that my children were a mistake, but some of the choices that I have made have impacted their lives....This food for thought.....GOOD LUCK.

move out. Get a job and start supporting yourself. Stop talkin **** about your dad so your mom has nothing to use against you. Maybe find a way to record what they both say. Next time they hit you call the police. They cant hit you and dont give them a reason to. Try to get along as much as you can. My mo was the same way. But not my dad. Later on you can get a GED. start getting some free counsiling..go to planed parent hood and talk to someone for free. Fond a friend or relatize to move in with. Find a friend out of state maybe. When you find a place to go dont tell your parents..just pack up and get the hell out. Leave a note a say you will no longer allow them to control or abuse you. When he says you are not his kid..ask him if he is calling your mom a whore. When you get a bf never tell your parents about it.

I am in the same situation you are in but in a different way. Don't dropout of school, that is the worst thing you can do. Believe me, there are times when I don't want to go either, but I have to. It is my responsibilty and I have to live up to it. Find an afterschool job and save up the money to move out on your own thats what I did. Stay w. a friend until u get the money,.

I honestly think your family is not good to be around. You should find a job fast and move out of there, get a roomate to help with the expenses, you will be much happier.
