Using a piercing gun is dangerous. Most of the parts are made of plastic, so it can't be sterilized properly. Wiping it down with alcohol is NOT enough. The gun can also cause complications, such as more pain, swelling, and infection (because it also uses the wrong kind of jewelery).

Go to a reputable piercer. He will use a hollow tri-tip needle, and can help you pick the proper jewelery for the pierce. Personally, I would only put a hoop into fresh piercings, because it helps with the cleaning process.

I think professional piercers like to use studs && a hollow needle. I have had my nose pierced twice. once by me. hurt like hell took me 3 hours to get it all way through. bad bad idea. the second time i went to a professional. she used the hollow needle stuck it through ((in like .2 seconds)) and then pushed in the stud as she pulled out the needle. i like the studs because hoops arent really my thing the ones that screw in hurt when i tried using it. never let someone use a gun on your nose cause it swells more cant be properly cleaned && the jewelry would have to be pointed instead of a small ball on the end.

EricaDarling, keloids can ensue in many diverse human beings, no rely what jewelry they're donning. i've got had a stud for over a three hundred and sixty 5 days and a a million/2 and that i've got no longer any keloids on my nostril. i understand many those that are in an analogous boat. jewelry can catch micro organism lots better than a stud can. Your superb guess is to get pierced with a stud, permit it heal, and then exchange it to a ring.

Well in the USA, they don't like to use the gun, they do it by hand. Also in the states, they want you to use a stud.

Now in Cananda, they use the gun and a hoop. (Also in Europe) they say using a hoop is better, cause it's easier to move and clean.

Whatever way they do it, don't be scared. Either you are going to do it or not. Nothing is giong to happen either way. Just walk in, pay for it, sit down, and it's over before you know it.

Don't worry about it..seriously!!!

i got it pierced with like a gun thing, that thing to get your ears pierced, i believe that would be less painful than a needle. um....... i think studs looks the best, but not too big, and i think dat hoops look terrible

You want a large hole so they can put a big ring in there. Originally the ring was there for men to lead women around by their noses. So get a large ring that can take a thick rope.

I did mine with an unsterile straight pin and put a large diamond ear ring in it. Very painful.
