The only way he'll drop is if the Raiders take Calvin Johnson, which is certainly possible considering we are talking about Al Davis here. With that being said I think that the Lions would be insane to pass up JaMarcus Russell should he drop. They need a young QB they can groom into a starter. He could drop all the way down to the Browns who will either keep him to fill their need at QB or use him for a decent trade. I can't fathom him dropping any further then 4th and if he does they're all nuts.

Isn't it frightening that this all depends on the Raiders? As if we could have anyone more unstable to set the tone of the first round ha.

Well, first of all the chance that the Raiders will pass up on a Qb is XTREMELY small......and even if they do I think that Cleveland and the Lions will do their best to get him.....I think the Lions are in a better position for Russell since they have a good Wide Receiver squad while Cleveland is just desparate for a decent QB.....But....this is in the mindset that the Raiders will pass up Russell.....My guess: Wont happen...

I believe J Russell will drop to 7 with the Minn Vikings pick. Rumor has it that Clev would take him at 4. Det seems so set on building a base that J Thomas, OT from Wisc is the #2 pick. The problem with J Russell is that he is lazy and has some commitment problems. After he gets the money, he will just use his athletic talent and not put in time to get better. Many teams are seeing him as the next "Ryan Leaf". I personally would not take him.

I say there is very little chance the Raiders pass him up. They seem to love athletic QBs like Russell. If he doesn't go 1st, the Lions will snatch him up or trade their pick to another team that wants him more.

Although I see no chance of the Raiders doing this...I'd say if Russell was passed that the Lions would grab him. As much as the Harrington draft stings, it was what it was. Russell has much more upside than Harrington ever had.

Probably the Browns, Detroit is going with Joe Thomas, and I know that everyone is saying Adrian Peterson is going to the Browns, but they went and signed Jamal Lewis. But rest assured, JaMarcus Russell will go number one.
