What are your views on Chuck Hagel?
It looks like he's about to toss his hat into the Presidential ring.
I disagree with him 95% percent of the time, but I've always had a great deal of respect for the man.
He's always struck me as being honest, honorable, and truly caring about this country.

As a Liberal,I'll be honest and say if his name is on the ballot come the General Election,it would be really hard to not vote for him.

What are your views on him?How do you think he stacks up against the rest of the Republican field?
And would he get your vote?
Thanks.

I too am a liberal and see him as perhaps the best possibility for the republicans in putting forward a candidate who has not gone so far right that he can't appeal to more than the republicans, primarily to many of those in the middle.

I had been wondering why he had not announced his candidacy before now. I believe he's retiring from the Senate after this term anyway.

Of course I won't be voting for him, but at least if he won the nomination, he'd make it an interesting race!

Chuck Hagel is a fine American. He has served our country for over 3 decades. I would say that his best role now would be at IHOP. He flip flops more than Hillary. Strange thing is he actually believes what he's saying. His views on Iraq are just plain silly. Anyone who thinks we can just leave is nuts. While we did not create the environment in which our troops must now suffer, (been like this for thousands of years), We/Our Politicians, created the most recent mess in the middle east, and we are obligated (I think) to clean up our mess. Doesn't mean I like it, doesn't mean it's gonna be neat or fun, but this is what we get for trying to the right thing. The road to hell is paved with good intention. Words Mr. Hagel should heed.

Also, I would consider Guliani a much better candidate from the Republicans. He is candid, has exceptional leadership skills, and is at least honest about his own shortcomings without trying to assess blame on others.

Depends on whether Obama runs, but he definitely has earned my respect for being willing to speak out against the war!

He looks pretty good, based on his PAC site.

If he runs, I'll consider him for sure.

He supports Right to Life for the unborn, which I favor.

I think he is something of an isolationist. Dangerous in these times.
