No, and here's why. If you believe that this is an illegal war, why hasn't he stood trial. Why did congress agree to war, and why don't we realize that the UN is just like the ACLU. These little clubs are not a governing body, they are a club. Why did the the UN not go in to Iraq and make Saddam do their bidding like you are suggesting? He would be alive today probably if he allowed the "inspectors" to do their work. But he kicked them out, and once again we did the UNs work. The UN is worthless, has no value in my eye, and I think that it should be abolished. We had to go to war because the UN is worthless. No? So Saddam, a dead man, shunned them just like us, what makes you think that Bush would give them a minute of our time.

impatient? 12 years is pretty damn patient.
i think if you look at the facts the UN security council's own resolutions made it necessary to use force to get Saddam out since he had been in violation of those laws for 12 years and the only reason the UN Security council did not act is because half of them were being bought off with blood tainted oil money from Saddam him self.
Yeah I would feel so much safer with a UN council being paid off by bad guys...
But you don't want facts like Saddam's violation of the laws, or that the UN council was bought off, or that the only ones who actually were following UN law were the ones you are accusing of holding an illegal war.
facts? try it.
Spam with this and your other avatars (Nancy/branda/all the other ones too)? stop it.

Maybe you should read the actual texts of the UN Resolutions instead of telling us "essentially said," because you really have no idea what you are talking about.
UNSCR 678 - November 29, 1990 (http://www.state.gov/documents/organization/18076.pdf)
UNSCR 686 - March 2, 1991 (http://www.state.gov/documents/organization/18077.pdf)
UNSCR 687 - April 3, 1991 (http://www.state.gov/documents/organization/18078.pdf)
UNSCR 688 - April 5, 1991 (http://www.state.gov/documents/organization/18079.pdf)
UNSCR 707 - August 15, 1991 (http://www.state.gov/documents/organization/18080.pdf)
UNSCR 715 - October 11, 1991 (http://www.state.gov/documents/organization/18081.pdf)
UNSCR 949 - October 15, 1994 (http://www.state.gov/documents/organization/18082.pdf)
UNSCR 1051 - March 27, 1996 (http://www.state.gov/documents/organization/18083.pdf)
UNSCR 1060 - June 12, 1996 (http://www.state.gov/documents/organization/18085.pdf)
UNSCR 1115 - June 21, 1997 (http://www.state.gov/documents/organization/18086.pdf)
UNSCR 1134 - October 23, 1997 (http://www.state.gov/documents/organization/18087.pdf)
UNSCR 1137 - November 12, 1997 (http://www.state.gov/documents/organization/18088.pdf)
UNSCR 1154 - March 2, 1998 (http://www.state.gov/documents/organization/18089.pdf)
UNSCR 1194 - September 9, 1998 (http://www.state.gov/documents/organization/18090.pdf)
UNSCR 1205 - November 5, 1998 (http://www.state.gov/documents/organization/18091.pdf)
UNSCR 1284 - December 17, 1999 (http://www.state.gov/documents/organization/18092.pdf)
UNSCR 1441 - November 8, 2002 (http://www.state.gov/documents/organization/18252.pdf)
Resolution 1441 is interesting because section 13 states that the United Nations "recalls, in that context, that the Council has repeatedly warned Iraq that
it will face serious consequences as a result of its continued violations of its
obligations".
Doesn't sound like they told Iraq they'd take a "we'll figure it out from there" stance.
(Pssst: The United Nations charter does not say that no nation can go to war unless the UN gives their permission. Read the text of the UN charter at http://www.un.org/aboutun/charter/)
Now, speaking as a Soldier typing this answer from Iraq, let me tell you this. Every Soldier is here because he or she volunteered for this mission. No one forced anyone to enlist. We believe in our mission. We want to help the great people of Iraq achieve true independence and freedom.
The terrorists killing American Soldiers in Iraq are not (surprise, surprise!) Iraqis. The vast majority of them are from Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Syria, Yemen, Iran, etc. The Iraqi people want us to see our job done to completion and then leave. But not before.
We live with death every day. We see our fellow Soldiers get injured and killed. We mourn and memorialize them. And we continue to do our job.
Your logic is so flawed, I would be embarrased if my 8 year old son said it. You do not state one fact that you back up with references. Your conclusions about what the UN charter and Security Council Resolutions are just plain false. And your attempt to say the war was "pre-arranged" is stated without one iota of evidence.
Please stop listening to and blindly accepting what the liberals are saying. Think for yourself, read the actual texts and come up with your own conclusions. Your answer may still be the same, but at least it will be your answer and not Larry King's. And then you will have my respect.
Have a great day!!
P.S. You can start impressing the hell out of me by letting people vote on the best answer instead of just choosing one, too. You can either try to understand both sides of an argument, or continue to close yours and let some parrot give an answer.

Yes and his whole entourage. He seems to be anxious in what seems to be Imperialism with over 700 bases around. No one saw on the media the big protest Italy had a couple weeks ago because of US intrusion there. Kadafe appealed to US to make a deal & not fight Cheney & Rummy said 'no' 'take out all evil'. Good thing Condie finally earned her $$ and intervened. Also IRAN wanted to talk and didn't this Adm tell them to 'take a number'. What an ego 'I'm the Decider' I can't see any other Pres, xcept Nix, saying anything so pompous.

This war was approved by almost all of Congress. Are you going to hold all of them liable/ They all had the same reports.
The UN has no problem with the US, just some liberal nuts have issues. As you can tell as a Military Mom, I am sick of the constant whining by liberals who do not support their own country & it's military. Shame on them.

We answered this yesterday...the war IS NOT ILLEGAL...we are acting under the resolution and an act of CONGRESS...if you want to blame the Prez..then you have to fault CONGRESS as well including Pelosi and Hillary....We are not ruled by the UN charter. We are under our own Constitution....but per the UN resolution which ALLOWED the use of ARMED INTERVENTION..we acted...nice try..but you get the same answers as yesterday when you posted this type of question...
