What do you mean by "cam?"
Not camshaft of course ...

i own a repair shop ,and the cam wont stall out on a car,the lifters will collapse and cause it not to hit on every cylinder, but the cam will not stall out,its either good or bad, that's it with a cam,it sounds like to me that the valve clearance may not be adjusted right on it,if check that before i did anything else to it,that may be all it needs is to have the valves re-adjusted on it,and a minor adjustment on the timing for it,good luck,i hope this helps.

The cam can't stall - it sounds like the valves aren't opening properly. Listen to the Dodge Man - he's giving you the good oil.

My first guess would be the timing followed by the valve clearance
