First of all it's very difficult and sometimes people do well with grief counseling. You will cry alot, laugh, share funny memories, look at pictures, but life goes on and you manage to move forward. I have lost both parents and a sister, you will always have their memories but I think I miss them being a part of my life most of all . My parents would be great grandparents now and my dad LOVED kids he would have been absolutely tickled pink!! Death is part of life and you get thru it.

My daughter passed away 3 months ago. She was 16. I have tried to remember all the good times we had. I had her sister compile photos. We talk about the departed one. Quite often. Sometimes we cry and other times we laugh as we recall memories. I heard it said that memories are what give you roses in the winter. I find that memories help me stay connected to the wonderful life that we shared.
I also pray a lot. I look through old journals my daughter wrote. I sit in her room sometimes. I like having memories. I prefer to dwell on what I enjoyed in my 16 years with my oldest girl rather than on being ripped off or cheated. That would make it much harder to cope - for me at least. Later we will talk as a family about how we want to honor birthdays and other special days as they get closer. Hope that helps and I will pray things go well with your family.
