No. Florida does not deserve to be the #1 of the #1 seeds. They did deserve to be either the #3 or #4 of the #1 seeds. How they surpassed OSU and Kansas is beyond me (and I would also put UNC above them). They played well in an unimpressive SEC Conference Tournament? They blew-out an unranked Arkansas? All this at the same time that OSU handled the Big Ten tournament and the 3rd ranked Wisconsin Badgers and Kansas came back and thrillingly beat a surging (#15 ranked) Texas with an unstoppable Kevin Durant. Even ahead of Kansas when Kansas beat them in the regular season (in a game that went to OT, but was really dominated by KU for most of the game)?
Nope. Florida did not deserve it. They were the best team last year, but the NCAA got better. OSU, Kansas, and UNC are all better. Its unfair that Florida got such an easy bracket, but I still have faith they won't make it to the final 4 (watch out for GA Tech in that bracket, just saying).
Also, lol at the Florida fan giving me a thumbs down!

They lost 3 out of 5 games after going on a 16 game winning streak. Their 5 losses came to Vandy (a 6 seed), Tennessee (a 5 seed), Kansas (a #1 seed), LSU and Florida State (notoriously known as giant killers). They clenched the SEC regular championship with a handful of games left in the regular season. Then they obliterated teams in the SEC tourney. And the conference overrall is #2 in the RPI, just behind the ACC. The overrall seed should be the team that no one wants to play because they're just that good. Trust me, no one WANTS to play Florida.
And as far as Ohio State, Florida beat them earlier this season by 26 points. And the Big Ten as a conference doesn't have much weight. North Carolina shouldn't have even been a #1 seed because they had 6 losses, specifically 1 to a team that wasn't ranked all season and almost beat them again in the ACC Championship. I think Kansas could've clenched the #1 overrall had it not been for their losses to DePaul and Oklahoma State, who neither made the tournament.
And Jay Bilas said it best about Memphis, "they're in the witness protection program", also known as Conference USA. The conference had no weight and they got their seed based on their non-conference schedule.

I definitely think Florida does NOT deserve it. They stumbled in the end and some say its OK because they had already clinched conference and so on. But it's not OK, you have to keep playing till the end. They did not do that. Another thing, the only reason they get #1 ranking is because they are defending champs. I think if anyone should have the number one ranking, its gonna have to be Kansas or Memphis. I don't know why people underestimate Memphis so much. True, their conference isn't the ACC or anything close to it, but they still have the mentality and skill to win 22 in a row! Not many teams can achieve that, even with a weak conference.

I don't know that getting the overall #1 seed is any big perk.
When you get to the sweet sixteen, any team can beat another. It becomes a test of who has the best night. By the final four, it's even more unpredictable. The refs can do more to change a game at that point than a player can.

If Florida has another good run next season, the same people dissing them now will be dissing them again, just like they dissed the Gators all of last year before the national title game.

Yes they do. They have played very well, and understand they are the team who won last year, and still has their winning starters. They very well deserved it, and one team that didn't is UNC.

Please, please, please, realize that the NCAA tournament is all about making $$$.
Ohio State, North Carolina, Florida, and Kansas represent leagues that can bring in the fans, and thus the $$$.
It doesn't matter how good a team like Wright State or Oral Roberts ever could be; they couldn't bring in the $$$.
