Help with bass????(again)?

Help with bass?
what would you suggest for learning bass???(not the classical double bass, bass guitar)
this is for a 12 year old who has never touched a bass before and wants to learn,just to add(some idols are Pete Wentz from Fall Out Boy and Matt Rubano from Taking Back Sunday)

Go get lessons would be my advice. Also buying a bass and am p would help also.
